I’m finally getting around to posting updated den photos with the new rug + proper heightened fireplace. If you want to catch up, read all about this room here and buying vintage fireplaces here.
The new rug is working out great. Five months in and the color/shag/thickness is standing up as well as expected to daily Lego rounds and dog naps. The dog’s favorite corner is a little less bright than the rest and the shag is matting in high traffic spots, but no big deal. It was cheap and purchased to be ran into the ground. I’d say the rug is ivory. Not bright white, but not murky. The brown accent in here is weird…works for us but may not for everybody. Almost borders on plum colored.
Enjoy the weekend everybody and thank you for reading. xoxo Jenny
Beautiful room. The rug is so nice and I love the room divider. String lights are so much fun!

i Just bought an original Magestic or Preway wood burning model and had it installed in my wood cabin. It sits on a wood floor. The installer says I need a rock or slate flooring underneath. Can you give me an idea of how thick or other safety requirements are needed?
Thanks

I have no idea, sorry. Mine isn’t “installed” so that is why it is over wood floor and has twinkle lights inside instead of actual fires! I would follow your installer’s instructions!

Can you “convert” an outside Malm to be used inside?

You’ll need to talk to a professional fireplace installer in your area. It depends. Sometimes it’s possible, and sometimes the fireplace is missing necessary parts/they aren’t available anymore so an installer won’t touch it. My indoor Preway is not actually hooked up…we have string lights in it instead of fires :)
