Parade of Trees 2019 Featuring King of Christmas

mid century vintage retro christmas tree flocked king of christmas prince retro ball ornaments color lightsHi everybody! Today I’m partnering up with King of Christmas and some wonderful women to bring you a PARADE OF TREES! The best kind of parade, right?! The six of us are sharing looks at our Christmas trees, generously provided by King of Christmas (plus 10% off for any of you who are in the market for a tree – just use the code: THEJENNYJAMES!). I hope our varied and creative approaches to tree styling spark some ideas for your own home!

If you are coming over from Adrienne’s beautiful AE Home Style Life blog, then WELCOME! My minimal loving heart really appreciates her calm and monochromatic design aesthetic – her gorgeous tree included! I’ll include a link to everyone’s post at the end so make sure you check them all out.

Now on to my tree! This cutie is the King of Christmas unlit flocked 7′ Prince. Flocked trees are the ultimate in Christmas nostalgia for me and I love the opportunity to bring that throwback feeling into our home. My grandma had a massive flocked tree every year and finding flock chunk remnants around the house well into Spring thrilled me as a kid! Growing up in Southern California, the novelty of a snowy-looking tree has never worn off.mid century vintage retro christmas tree flocked king of christmas prince retro ball ornaments color lights For this tree, I added my usual festive but minimal-leaning adornments. I’m the person that loves decorating for Christmas/hoarding vintage Christmas items, but can be driven crazy by clutter and will be packing up extra stuff mid December if I go too overboard. So I keep everything, including the tree, bold but simple. I channeled a retro 60’s vibe using bright vintage glass ball ornaments and old school colored lights.

I have a mix of vintage and new(er) glass ornaments. I scoop them up everywhere from estate sales to Target when I spot good colors, and then we mix and match each year. Currently, I’m on the hunt for more orange and some hot pink…where are they???

The gold starburst tree topper is a recent find. I’m very into its mid century lines and substantial proportion!

Believe it or not, these lights are vintage and still going strong. I can’t find modern strands that have the same warm pastel glow (why are modern LEDS so cold?!) so we continue to string these up each year. Nothing beats those pinks! I collect vintage Christmas light covers and this go round my kiddos decided on the icicles for some extra flair.mid century vintage retro christmas tree flocked king of christmas prince retro ball ornaments color lightsstarburst tree topper mid century vintage retro gold Christmas tree crate and barrelmid century flocked tree vintage ornaments shiny brite

I’ll be back Friday sharing our entire Christmas-y house (catch past years right here)! In the meantime, head over to This Is Simplicite for a peek at Mansa’s stunning blush and navy tree made from mostly repurposed items (I’m SO in awe of her ribbon skills!!!!) and to continue hopping through to check out all of the trees in this festive parade! Huge thanks to King of Christmas for the lovely trees and Mansa at This Is Simplicite for organizing all the fun!
