I’m framing this as a main bedroom update post, but I’m really just looking for an excuse to show off this freshly painted orange door and to shout from the mountaintops my love for it. Orange is a tricky color to nail but this shade is perfect. Thanks Behr Fireglow, you are the orange that my dreams are made of. And to think, I was *this* close to painting the interior side of the door white. Dummy move. Think of the joy I would have missed out on. A lesson to us all, especially when it comes to paint: JUST TRY IT. There is nothing to lose but a little paint and a little time but the payout might be HUGE.
Nothing very significant has changed in here since last time besides the door and the new life it’s breathing into the space. The old dining room painting found a home in here, a few new lamps have showed up, I bought the Roz planter from CB2 (and love it!), my daughter poached one of our night stands (and I borrowed it back for pics – lies!), door trim and dressing room closet doors have been painted, and I haven’t shown pictures of this desk in its place.
Other than that, it’s been pretty stagnant in here. Still waiting for time to build a bed frame, still using this $25 king sized craigslist headboard nonsensically on our queen bed, still haven’t installed the new fan, and still haven’t painted baseboards because I perpetually think that ripping them out for hardwood floor install is just around the corner.
I still love this room like crazy. My like for orange and black has turned into full-blown, unhealthy stalkerish obsession so, in that spirit, here’s a crazy amount of photos that are probably best viewed taped on the wall of some creepy, seedy lair in yarn web formation.
This is how the to-do is looking about now. If you are curious where this room started, photos are here.

Happy weekend everybody! We’ve got 8 cubic yards of rock showing up for us tomorrow morning so the rest of my day will be spent giving myself a shoveling pep talk.
